Acoustic Ceiling Installation Detail

The suspended ceiling is part of the acoustic enclosure, not a decorative finish only. Tile support, perimeter movement, plenum barriers, and service cut-outs must follow these details so the 275 cm AFF ceiling line remains consistent in every room.

Drawing 2 — Perimeter Wall Angle

Do not caulk tile to wall [AC]

The 25 × 25 mm aluminium wall angle supports the perimeter tile edge. A 5 mm movement gap remains between tile and wall and must not be sealed rigidly.

Drawing 3 — Plenum Barrier at Partition

Mandatory at all intersections [AC]

At every partition crossing, a 15 mm gypsum barrier lies flat over the tile plane for 600 mm each side and seals back to the partition face with Tremco.

Drawing 4 — T-Grid Layout Plan (Video/Podcast)

490 × 229 cm room

Main runners run parallel to the long axis. Cross tees fall at 600 mm spacing with dedicated openings reserved for IDU-05 and the lighting set-out.

Video/Podcast ceiling variant: This room runs a high 340 cm clear ceiling using a compact decoupled ceiling build-up (shallower plenum than the 275 cm audio rooms) to recover the extra head height. Height chain: 366.4 slab − 15 float floor − 11 compact decoupled ceiling = 340 cm clear. Because the plenum is compressed, the hanging MEP (IDU-05 unit + black pipe) is not run above the decoupled ceiling — it is boxed into a perimeter bulkhead fitted with an HVAC service hatch for access, keeping the central ceiling field at full 340 cm clear.
