Build sequence
1 Frame 150mm — DECOUPLED
Erect 150mm staggered / resilient-channel studs and fill with 150mm wool. A single 150mm stud screwed to both faces would bridge them — keep the leaves decoupled.
2 Gypsum face A (VO)
Two layers of 12.5mm gypsum on the VO side.
3 Gypsum face B (Control)
Two layers of 12.5mm gypsum on the Control side.
4 Frame the OW-1 opening
Build the window box in the deepened wall so the ~170mm window frame sits flush (no proud box-out). Splayed, absorptive-lined reveal.
5 Install window + door
Fit the 2-pane OW-1 window (Build 07) and door D3 (STC 45) with magnetic seal (Build 06).
Golden rule: The deeper wall only helps if it stays DECOUPLED (staggered / resilient channel). Verify STC ≥ 53 after build.
