Build sequence

STUDIO ROOMEXISTING CONCRETE1

1 Mount the resilient clips

Fix RSIC-1 clips to the concrete on the grid (W2 diagonal = RSIC-V). One rigid screw bypassing a clip defeats the whole wall.

STUDIO ROOMEXISTING CONCRETE2

2 Clip in the hat channel

Snap steel hat channel horizontally into the clips. The channel must float — never touch the concrete directly.

STUDIO ROOMEXISTING CONCRETE3

3 Infill the wool

Friction-fit 50mm mineral wool in the clip cavity. Don't compress it against the channel.

STUDIO ROOMEXISTING CONCRETE4

4 First gypsum layer

Screw the first 12.5mm gypsum to the hat channel only. Acoustic putty-pad behind every electrical box.

STUDIO ROOMEXISTING CONCRETE5

5 Second gypsum layer

Add the second 12.5mm gypsum, joints staggered. No Green Glue on W1/W2 — isolation here is by decoupling.

Golden rule: W1/W2 isolate by DECOUPLING (clips). Keep zero rigid bridges between the gypsum leaf and the concrete — one stray screw shorts it out.
